About DMIX

For over 40 years the Direct Marketing Idea Exchange, DMIX, has been a quiet pioneer in peer-to-peer exploration of direct marketing ideas.  As a unique Socratic forum for open and innovative dialogue, it has attracted the highest caliber direct marketing practitioners to its invitation-only membership.  We have been addressed by the senior management of America’s traditional and new media companies, and even a couple of U.S. presidential candidates.  DMIX's challenging discourse is an industry hallmark and, over the decades, much of the prescience of past DMIX discussions has been realized, transforming the DM community. 

DMIX members have been noticeably prominent in driving that transformation.  In turn, they have endowed DMIX an impressive pedigree.  A score of DMIX members have been inducted into the DMA Hall of Fame.  Many have sat on the board of the Direct Marketing Association; some serving as DMA chairman, three as DMA’s CEO.  Historically, the DMIX roster has been freighted with ECHO and Caples Awards winners, recipients of the Ed Mayer, Jr. Award, List Leader Award, diverse regional honors such as the Silver Apple, and many other achievement accolades within our community and external to it.  Though the DMIX membership roster has always represented Fortune 100 and prominent category-specific DM companies nationwide, it has remained NYC-based, meeting half-a-dozen times a year at the Yale Club.  This tradition of a fixed-base meeting has imbued a zestful collegiality amongst members.
